Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869 – 1948) and Mohammed Ali Jinnah, during their talks in Mumbai (Bombay) 1944. Jinnah became the first leader of Pakistan. Gandhi was the preeminent leader of the Indian independence movement in British-ruled India.
