English banana winter insulation removal and clean-up

Mid-April in England, and the weather finally starts to warm up, necessitating the removal of the banana's winter overcoat. Still need to watch out for overnight frosts, in which case I will need to put a temporary cover over the top. Leaving the winter wrap unopened at this stage could lead to further problems in warm sunshine with overheating within the insulation. Once all the rotten brown leaves are removed, the banana looks reasonably respectful. Fresh air will do it good.
