The immense resource of C. opilio Tanner crab offers an opportunity if suffi- cient markets can be found. At present, however, C. opilio have a landed value of only $, compared to $ for C. bairdi. Moreover, king crab prices appear to be falling, perhaps in response to recent record catches and prices.
