He was a private in the7th Connecticut during the war. Mr. Elliott,who is a Republican, is engaged both in farm-ing and in the lumbering business. GEORGE M. MORSE, Of Putnam, was born in Central Falls, R. I., in1830. He is one of the leading cotton goodsmanufacturers of his district, being president ofthe Powhatan and Morse mills. He is on thehigh school committee in Putnam and has heldother local offices. Mr. Morse is a Republicanin politics and one of the prominent men of theparty in his county. -* JOHN II.
