The festive Christmas tree in Piazza Venezia, Rome, heart of the capital city (with 600 baubles and 3 kilometers of Christmas lights, which cost some €48,000 ) precociously drying out. On Twitter quickly picked up the sharp nickname, being dubbed Spelacchio (Italian for ugly, shabby). It has brought laughter to social media, with people calling it a toilet brush. Spelacchio has its own unofficial Twitter account, which has almost 3,000 followers.
