University library. 18th-century artwork of a university library in Germany. This engraving is from 'Corpus historiae Germanicae' (1730), a history of the Germanic lands written by German scholar and librarian Burkhard Gotthelf Struve (1671-1738). Struve worked at the University of Jena as a librarian, eventually becoming professor of history there.
