Inscriptions: Woven signature in lower guard, right: Ceres holds sheaf of wheat & sits on cloud with putto; figures set within garlanded portico decorated with pastoral trophies; at bottom, putti drink from jug & sort grain; at top, medallion with Leo (BRD) picture-frame border, shell cartouche in corners, cartouche with cherub at midpoints 1st border. Subtle stylistic qualities suggest the possibility that this may be the reproduction woven at Gobelins from 1900-1902.
