AIDS VIRUS, ILLUSTRATION
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), responsible for AIDS. The HIV is a RNA virus of the Lentivirus genus, of Retroviridae family. Its conic capsid (in yellow) enclosed its genome, composed of 2 simple-stranded RNA. This capsid is surrounded by a proteic matrix, then by the envelope (in red) carrying glycoproteins (gp41, gp120). Molecules of viral protease are present between the matrix and the capsid.
