Under the ordinance of October 12, 1903, which providedfor the lighting of the city by electricity—100 arc lights of 1,200candle power each being specified in the ordinance—the companywas given greater privileges and the plant was practically April, 1913, the old company was succeeded by the Fort MadisonElectric Company, which has made extensive alterations.
