In this connectionalso, the fact that the fissures of these iron lodes coincide with theboundary fissures, branch veins, and cross-courses of subsidences presum-ably formed in upper Middle Devonian time, is of great significance,the determination of this fact having resulted from laborious research byDenckmann. A knowledge of the course of these subsidences becomestherefore of prime importance when prospecting for, or following suchsiderite lodes.
