Car-da-fe in Valladolid, 1558; Spaensche Inquisition. Auto-DA-FE (AutoDafe) in Valladolid, May 21 1558. Procession of approximately thirty by the Spanish Inquisition of death sentenced Protestants to a place outside the city where they are burned at the stake. In the middle a building with dignitaries, opposite a wooden gallery to which the heretics are convicted. The convicts carry a special headgear (capiular) and cloak with a show of the Hellemond. Reduced copy to the original contemporary performance on four sheets.
