Tewkesbury is an historic market town in the Cotswold area of Gloucestershire, England. It stands where the River Severn and the River Avon meet. It has one of the best medieval landscapes in England with fine half-timbered Tudor buildings. There are nearly 400 listed buildings in the town. In 1471 the penultimate and decisive battle in the Wars of the Roses were held in the fields to the south of the town leading the House of York to power.
