We have grown a few hundred pounds of seed thispast season from original stock from Livingston. We find it one of theearliest, fruits smooth and of good size, firm flesh and few seeds. Veryproductive of fruit, being short-jointed and clusters of fruit form at eachjoint. Fruits are of right size and shape to pack well for shipment. Colorof skin purplish red, about the same shade as our Redfield beauty. Ourexperience with this variety, both in our own crop and by observation ofmarket crops in several sections is that about one-half of the fruits comethe true globe shape, the balance are rather flattened but much thickerproportionately than other standard varieties.
