This out-door living-room is placed in the centre line of thestaircase so that from this a view is obtainedthrough the loggia and the length of the pergola tothe landscape beyond. On the occasions when theloggia or garden entrance is used for meals, over-flow parties could extend to the pergola as far asnecessary, whilst the shade from the pergola wouldnot in any way obstruct the access of light to theprincipal rooms or to the loggia.
