Rock pool with the green form of snakelocks anemones (Anemonia sulcata). Each anemone has a squat sucker like base from which about 170 wavy green tentacles with purple tops grow. These tentacles are not fully retractile. The tentacles are covered in stinging cells, which penetrate the skin of the prey after which they are conveyed to the mouth.
