A late 19th Century view of the Shambles in Settle in the West Riding of Yorkshire, England. Built around 1780 as a row of shops with single-storey cottages above and basements below, the cottages were partially demolished and reconfiguredin 1888 by adding an upper storey and removing the external north stairway.
