Alan Schrader, commanding officer, Naval Base Kitsap, reads the presidential proclamation during a National Vietnam War Veterans Day commemoration at Naval Undersea Museum-Keyport. National Vietnam War Veterans Day is a holiday observed annually, recognizing veterans who served in the military during the Vietnam War. On March 28, 2017, President Donald Trump signed the Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017, officially recognizing March 29 as National Vietnam War Veterans Day.
