Cottingham, a missionary returning fromthe Philippine Islands, was appointed to Sweetser. Upon his arrivalDr. Oldham informed me that on account of impaired health BrotherCottingham would be given a furlough. On May 27th, John was transferred from the Indiana Conference and appointedto Sweetser. Dr. J. K. Cecil, of First Church, Wabash, requested an exchangewith Earle F. Naftzger, of Spokane, Wash. This request was granted,taking effect July t, 1913. 298 North Indiana Conference [1914. Marble. On September 17, 1913, F, J. Robins was employed to take theplace of E. D. Imler, at Highland Avenue, who was excused to attendschool at Drew Theological Seminary. On September 19, 1913, LeslieO. Winslow was appointed to Warren Circuit. Bishop Burt trans-ferred Sanford McDonald from the Michigan Conference and ap-pointed him to Roanoke, made vacant by the release of C. R. Booth to attend school at Garrett BiblicalInstitute. On September 20th, A. D. Buck,pastor at Mount Etna, announced tohis Quarterly Conference that hispastoral relation with the chargewas closed. On October 17th heplaced in my hands a signed requestfor a Certificate of Location. Thenext day he was transferred to theHolston Conference, where his re-quest was granted. At the meeting of laymen at In-dianapolis, last October, BishopSmith informed me that he hadtransferred W. E. Shafer from theLiberty Mills Circuit to the Missour
