A Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 123 (VAW-123) E-2C Hawkeye aircraft is launched from the No. 1 catapult aboard the aircraft carrier USS AMERICA (CV-66). The aircraft of Carrier Air Wing 1 (CVW-1) are returning to their home bases after being deployed aboard the AMERICA for Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.
