Construction work on laying the steel rail tracks along George Street in Sydney's CBD (central business district) for the 12km South East Light Rail route. The major infrastructure project is a project of the NSW Government. The new CBD and South East Light Rail will run from Circular Quay via George Street to Central Station and then up to Moore Park, then on to Kingsford via Anzac Parade and Randwick via Alison Road. The planned light rail system is due to start operating in 2019.
