Professor Stein is an advocate for the cultivationof sugar beet in this country, but the members ofthe Ripon Agricultural Association express theopinion that owing to tho attitude of the present< iovernment towards tho admission of bounty-fedsugar the attempt to create a sugar industry inthis country must be abandoned.
