Tudor Revival Shops, Kew Gardens, Queens, New York
Tudor Revival shops built along Lefferts Boulevard in 1925. Site of the infamous Kitty Genovese murder in 1964. Sensational news reportage following her murder emphasized (largely incorrectly) the reluctance of her neighbors to report the assault. Her murder became a rallying cry for urban insensitivity in the 1960s. She lived in a second-storey apartment above the ale house down the block to the right.
