Mauerpark is a green oasis well visited by Berliners on a sunny Sunday afternoon, when the Mauerpark Flea market is open. The park is located in the former 'death strip' between the Inner and Outer Walls of the Berlin Border Division. The Outer Border Wall, facing West Berlin, ran along the line of the flea market on the western side of the park. The Inner Wall followed the slope top near the sport park floodlights in the background of the shot.
