A baobab clings to the edge of the gorge of Epupa falls, on the Kunene river in the Kaokoveld of northern namibia.
"Epupa" means in the language of the Himba (Otjiherero) "falling water". The Himba are the local indigineous population in this part of northern Namibia. The Kunene river forms the border between Namibia and Angola, tand plummets down a 40 metre deep gorge at the Epupa Falls close to the nearby village of Epupa in the northern part of Namibia. This is a very remote area, usually accessible by 4x 4 on difficult and neglected tracks, but so scenic and stunning beautiful that a visit is utterly worthwhile, Here a baobab clings too the edge of the gorge, and a visitors lodge can be seen on the river bank in the distance.
