Hewas a merchant in Enfield for a time, studied law, and practiced in Somers,about 1800. From there he removed to Vermont and, later, to New York. Heis said to have possessed an unusual store of natural wit and a considerablefaculty for public speaking. Married in Enfield, December 24, 1795, TABITHA KILLAM, born in Enfield,November 7, 1776; died in Brooklyn, N. Y., March 15, 1851. She was thedaughter of Eliphalet and Submit ( ) Killam.
