Amphoriskos, 1st-2nd century Additional Info: The vessel is wide and stout and has been free-blown from colorless glass. It has a conical foot and a flaring rim. Two tiny handles are applied and folded over upon themselves; one of these is of a different blue-green glass. Also of blue-green glass, a thread is applied to the underside of the rim so that it can be seen through the colorless glass of the rim. Most of the surface is weathered, giving the vessel iridescence and an opaque, dirty-white layer.
