Liatris punctata, Achillea millefolium, Chrysopsis villosa Shrubs. Rosa woodsii, Arte- misiajrigida Drainage Trees. Populus spp. Synopsis An abundance of Melilotus officinalis is evident in the 1998 photo but not in earlier photos. However, only very small seedlings were present during the 1999 site visit. This reduction was attributed to mechanical or herbicide treat- ment or both. The amount of Pinus ponderosa on Black Butte has increased consider- ably over time. Although the presence of Opuntia spp. is noted in 1959, it was not present in 1998 or 1999. 19
