Circumcision set dating from late nineteenth century, England. The set is complete with guard and knife and is made from steel and silver. Circumcision (the surgical removal of the foreskin from the penis) has been practised for thousands of years but became a common practice among non-Jews and Muslims in the late nineteenth century and was believed to 'cure' a range of ailments.
