Y. The Market. Business was good last week, but a few warm days have had a depressing influence some of the time. All flo- rists are looking forward to Memorial day as the next big event and are pre- pared to do a big business. Because of the late spring there are loads of lilac, tulips and daisies on hand. Out- door flowers and plants are sold mostly for Memorial day in this city. Com- pared with the great quantities of loose flowers and bouquets used, there are few demands for designs and baskets for the decoration of graves. Koses are arriving in greater quan- tity since the warm, spell; however, the quality is good and the rise in tem- perature has not yet adversely affected stock in general. Beauties are more abundant and the price is down. There are few short Beauties. Carnations are getting smaller and poorer in quality. Daffodils and narcissi have disappeared for another year. Outdoor valley has come and is excellent. Sweet peas are getting better every day. Cattleyaa are excellent and the demand for them is still strong, since there are no more violets. Flowering plants are scarce. Plant Ferns When Your Benches are Empty I have 50,000 Beaton, in 3-in. pots, at $ per 1000. One hundred at thousand rate.
