CT scan: A radiographer helps position a patient's head before the patient undergoes a cranial (head) CT scan. The image is taken from within the doughnut-shaped scanner; other equipment can be seen in the background. The patient is able to wear metal jewellery on his wrist as only his head will be examined. Otherwise metal can interfere with the scan.
