From this timecurve the maximum surface velocities werecomputed for various depths as indicated bygage rod readings. Stream Section Very Favorablefor Good Results. A glance at the stream bed sections (PlateB 33) through which the gagings were taken,will show that sections numbered 2 and 3 arevery nearly identical in general conformitywhile sections numbered 1 and 4 differmaterially in shape. It was considered logical tobuild up a composite of these sections givingdouble weight to sections 2 and 3 and correspond-ingly smaller significance to sections 1 and 4.
