Argyle Stairs is a historic staircase located in The Rocks, Sydney, Australia. It was constructed in 1911-12 as part of the improvements undertaken in The Rocks area by the Sydney Harbour Trust1. The stairs replaced an early wooden set that gave access to Bunker’s Hill, a high-class residential area that sprang up along the top of the ridge1. Today, Argyle Stairs provide access to Cahill Walk above Circular Quay beside the Cahill Expressway, and onto the walkway across the Sydney Harbour Bridge1.
