Business splendid, sales away ahead of all previous years, and extent of sales only limited by difficulty in se- curing flowers, was the experience of Welch Bros. Montrose Greenhouses had an unusu- ally heavy cut of roses for Easter, and their efficient salesman, E. A. Stickel, had no trouble in clearing them out in good season. Sidney Hoffman, at his big Massa- chusetts avenue store, was rushed as never before. John Barr, of South Natick, had a heavy Easter pick of high grade carna- tions. They sold like hot cakes at the Boston Cooperative Market. James Wheeler came out strong with carnations, snapdragons and yellow marguerites. He had some of the finest snapdragons on the market. Carbone's, on Boylston street, was a veritable hive of industry for Easter. Here are always to be found many plants not common, and critical custom- ers always find something to suit them. Arnold & Petros, on Boylston street, were surprised with their volume of business and were kept on the jump. This new firm is doing well.
