Northern Ireland, Belfast: graffiti along one of the city's numerous Peace Walls. First appearing in the 1960s during the Troubles era, The Peace Walls are walls of separation in Belfast in Northern Ireland, which ensure the distinct separation of Catholic and Protestant neighbourhoods. They would limit spillovers and other acts of violence between the two communities. These walls come in several sections, some of which can be up to 5km long. There are 99 of them nowadays, but the Northern Irish government plans to destroy them within 10 years.
