Nothosaur marine reptile fossil. This extinct animal lived from the middle to late Triassic period (245 to 200 million years ago). It had a long neck, small skull and webbed feet. It is thought that it spent most of its time in the water, but came ashore to sunbath and reproduce. This specimen, from Guizhou, China, measures 60 centimetres long.
