Meteorite specimens, 19th-century illustration. The specimens are labelled 1-8 in rows from top left to bottom. 1. The Pultusk meteorite, a chondrite meteorite which fell on 30 January 1868, in Poland. 2. The Soko-Banja meteorite, a chondrite meteorite that fell on 13 October 1877 in Serbia. 3. The Toluca meteorite, an iron meteorite found in 1776 in Mexico. 4. The Cabin Creek meteorite, an iron meteorite which fell on 27 March 1886, in Arkansas, USA. 5. An iron meteorite found in 1888 near Welland Ontario, Canada. 6. The Eagle Station meteorite, a pallasite meteorite found in 1880 in Kentucky, USA. 7. A stony-iron meteorite (with olivine) found in 1856 near Mincy, Taney County, Missouri, USA. 8. The Youndegin meteorite, an iron meteorite found in 1884 in Western Australia. The specimens are from the Imperial Natural History Museum in Vienna, Austria. This chromolithograph was published in 1898.
