Staff Sgt. Matthew Rodela, a member of the 229th Army Band, provides directions to pedestrians in Washington , onJan. 20, 2017. Rodela, a trumpet player, has been in the National Guard for 12 years, and was in the Army for four years. More than 400 Maryland National Guard members are assisting in monitoring traffic control points and facilitating crowd movements, as well as assisting in communication and cyber security for the 58th Presidential Inauguration.
