holiday inn hotel and bars, now demolished, ilfracombe devon in 1975 number 0172b

Photograph of  The Holiday Inn, Ilfracombe, taken prior to 1975.  The people are all playing crazy golf but to the upper right there are lots of people sunbathing on the hill. The building was erected in 1867 as "The Ilfracombe" and later had an indoor pool. The owners leased it to Bass Charrington in 1950 and they renamed it The Holiday Inn. At the end of the lease Bass relinquished the building and it was demolished in 1976.   The print is made from a scanned 6cm x 6cm black and white negative.
