Te Oka Bay on the Banks Peninsula on New Zealands South Island, near Christchurch. The beach offers safe swimming and surfing.
The trail down to Te Oka Bay on the Banks Peninsula on New Zealands South Island, near Christchurch leads to this beautiful and unspoilt beach. The trail starts from Bossu Road near Little River and decends some 6 Km to the Bay. You can continue your tramp from Te Oka Bay round to the popular Tumbledown Bay. Both bays are accessible by vehicles. For the hiker it is often a good idea to get a ride back up to the starting point of the walk. Dogs are prohibited on the walk, probably due to the numbers of sheep grazing the reserve.
