Francis Jenkins, who has just returned from theOcean to Ocean auto tour, had lots of experiences. In hisgenial way he told me of some of the things that happenedand I will endeavor to recount them to you, only there willbe the absence of that wholesome laugh and the merry facial?expressions which added so much to my own enjoyment ofthe instances. Of course Mrs. Jenkins was of the party, as were also adumber of other ladies, all of whom were delightfully disap-pointed in having no real hardships to endure. They weresure they were going to get thin and even feared not beingable to get to the end of the journey. In fact, they all gainedin weight, which is not at all stylish in the present cut ofgowns.
