Much cannot befaid in praifeof this frolic, nor of the talents of Wilfon for imita-tion, as the two prints which he produced have not that confirmed maftery of exe-cution, which diftinguilbestheprintsof Rembrant. It may betrulyfaid,that Wilfondifcovered his vanity by attempting the deception, while Hudfon betrayed theweaknefs of his judgment by not detecting the impofition, which, by the datesof the prints, muft have been practifed at two different and diftant periods of time. 3.
