The death of John L. Burns occurred at theresidence of a nephew, Mr. Hagarman, nearBonneauville, this county on Sunday morning,February 4, 1872, from pneumonia, after a shortattack. His body was interred in the EvergreenCemetery on Monday with the honors of war, theGettysburg Zuoaves turning out on the age was about seventy-eight years. He came Iaze 23 to this country more than forty years before hisdeath and married here. His connection with theBattle of Gettysburg served to spread his famethroughout the land and it becoming known thathe was without means, brought him many con-tributions, aggregating several thousand MR.
