The condition of the local market last week was far from satisfactory; stock was overplentiful, to say the least, and the demand was far below the supply, and no flower, regardless of variety or condition, brought prices that would tend to encourage the grower. Boses have been especiallj' plentiful and job- bers and growers alike were willing to accept almost any price offered, and this was true also of valley. The pre- vailing price for American Beauties was $5 per dozen, and the demand was poor at that figure. Greens have moved fairly well. The deal§xs forgot to count sweet peas and these were sold in bunches at almost any figure, al- though some extra fine stock brought good money. The highest grade of Easter lilies sold all right at about $10 per hundred, but it was impossible to give away the poor ones. Double violets were a glut on the market; singles went fairly well. Daffodils moved along at moderate prices.
