August 17, 2012 Cracow, Poland - Alexander Rodchenko. Revolution in Photography in The National Museum in Krakow. The coming weekend is the closing weekend of exhibition of Alexander Rodchenko (1891–1956), one of the most influential 20th-century artists, a star of the Russian avant-garde and classic of the modern photography. The National Museum in Krakow, jointly with the Moscow House of Photography Museum, prepares a major presentation of the artist’s oeuvre to be shown in Poland for the first time.

Aleksander Mikhailovich Rodchenko (Russian: Алекса́ндр Миха́йлович Ро́дченко; 5 December [ 23 November] 1891 – December 3, 1956) was a Russian artist, sculptor, photographer and graphic designer. He was one of the founders of constructivism and Russian design; he was married to the artist Varvara Stepanova. Rodchenko was one of the most versatile Constructivist and Productivist artists to emerge after the Russian Revolution. He worked as a painter and graphic designer before turning to photomontage and photography. His photography was socially engaged, formally innovative, and opposed to a painterly aesthetic.
