Height, 9% inches. 299—Clair-de-lune Coupe [Yuan) Dense vibrant porcelain, covered with a thick, viscous glaze ofclair-de-lune suggestion, brilliant in surface, with grayish-bluetone, and marked with violet, purple and iron-rust patches, andwith a subtle crackle. Diameter, 3^ inches. 300—Two Writers Low Circular Peachbloom Water Cups(K(ing-hsi) Covcrcc! by a rich and lustrous peachbloom glaze, varying fromthe soft pink of the downy coat of a peach to the green oftender moss in the woods, with sundry fleckings and mottlings,and deepening in channels of the molded paste to tones of velvetblack. Covers of fei-fsui jade carved in representation of thepersimmon. One has a gilded water-spoon with a ducks headhandle. Dinmeterx, Sy^ inches and i% 301—Ru Laxg-vao Globular Jar (Earli/ Kang-hsi) Heavy, dense porcelain of early Kang-hsi, coated with a softapple-green glaze of subdued luster, flowing evenly to the lowfoot and marked by a heavy, bold crackle in brown lines. Theseapple-green vases are known in China as Ru Lang-yao. Mountedwith a gold mouth-rim.
