Twizel Castle, Northumberland


Twizel Castle was originally a 15th century stone tower or hall house, founded by Sir John Heron. Destroyed and abandoned in 1496, the site was purchased by Sir Francis Blake in 1685 with the intention of building a house, this has never been completed.
