ADONIRAM JUDSON IVES pToONIRAM JUDSON IVES, son of Titus 5^ I. and Hannah Ives, was born near Bolton Center, Province of Quebec, Canada, July 16,1850, and departed this life at his home in Stutt-gart, Arkansas, Jan. 9, 1911. He was the eighthchild in a family of eleven children, eight sonsand three daughters. Four brothers and twosisters still survive him. He received his earlyeducation in the public schools of Canada. When20 years of age he came to Illinois with an olderbrother and his family. Here he worked on thefarm, saved his earnings and, desiring to securea higher education, entered the Illinois WesleyanUniversity in the fall of 1871 and spent two yearsand the fall term of 1874. He taught in the pub-lic school, and also taught vocal music to securemeans to complete his education. While in the University he became acquainted with Miss Rosella Kenady of Hull, 111.,to whom he was joined in wedlo
