A hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) and soft corals. The IUCN Red List indicates that this species is critically endangered. Egyptian Red Sea.

A hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata). Very sadly, all sea turtles are endangered; in the case of the hawksbill, critically so. This is due to the facts that turtles become entangled in fishing nets, are adversely affected by pollution, have their nesting sites eliminated by coastal development and, last but not least, because their meat and eggs are highly prized by some people as food. Photographed in the Egyptian Red Sea.
