Sgt. Bryan Fonseca reads to a class at Joseph S. Shanklin Elementary School, Mar. 1. Fonseca is one of 24 volunteers from the Tri-command who read to classes at Shanklin as part of Read Across America week. The volunteers were invited into the school to encourage the students to read and to show the students that there are career opportunities after high school. Fonseca is with Weapons and Field Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.
