A new erawas dawning, in which the Lord was to fill the earth with lightbefore His second appearing, according to His word to Danielthe prophet: Thou, 0 Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book,even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, andknowledge shall be increased.^ Dan. 12:4. At last the time of the end was at hand, and the signs ofthe latter days had begun to appear in the earth and in theheavens.
